[팩트인뉴스= Dongsu Kim] The UK government has released a warning that Northern Ireland will bear the brunt of the negative repercussions of a no-deal Brexit, stating that the no-deal will “affect the viability of many businesses across Northern Ireland."

The document, as the BBC reported, was released in order to give businesses already operating in Northern Ireland a heads up of what might soon happen. Though it is yet to be updated–since it has not been added to recent data since the government’s release of it back in November 2018–it was still considered as a “fair reflection of the current state of readiness for a no deal exit.”

The new details that were added, though, studied the viability of Northern Ireland’s agri-food industry, a sector of the country which will suffer greatly when the no-deal Brexit starts to make vulnerable cross-body supply chains.

The government still assured that there will be solutions in place to try and counteract the impact of the fallout that will follow the no-deal Brexit. The report details that the government has already had an idea of how to help both Northern Ireland and Ireland and provide them with a “sustainable longer term solution.” So far, the solution that they are eyeing is maintaining a free border between Britain and Ireland.

Even then the UK would still have to work on defining a deal with the EU once more, since the no-deal already abolishes the already in-place agreements that the UK has with the EU.

For now, regions within the UK would need to deal with border inspection protocol that the UK Department for the Environment says will be important in the event of the no-deal Brexit. According to the department, products such as meat and other food will have to pass the border inspection post (BIP) if it hopes to align with the “integrity” of markets.

뉴스매체의 보도와 같이 이 문서는 북아일랜드에서 이미 운영되고 있는 기업에 곧 일어날지도 모르는 일을 미리 알리기 위해 공개되었다. 2018년 11월 정부 발표 이후 최근 자료에 아직 추가되지 않았지만, 여전히 ‘거래금지 조치(No Delay) 준비 상태를 공정하게 반영한 것’으로 여겨졌다.

그 후 추가된 새로운 세부 사항은 북아일랜드의 농식품 산업의 생존 가능성을 연구했다.

정부는 여전히 무거래 브렉시트에 이은 여파에 대한 대응책을 마련하겠다고 장담했다. 보고서는 정부가 북아일랜드와 아일랜드 모두를 어떻게 도울 것인지, 그들에게 "지속 가능한 장기적 해결책"을 제공할 것인지에 대한 아이디어를 이미 갖고 있다고 상세하게 기술하고 있다. 지금까지 그들이 생각하는 해결책은 영국과 아일랜드 사이에 자유로운 경계를 유지하는 것이다.

게다가 영국이 EU와 체결한 이미 체결된 협정들을 무거래가 폐지하고 있기 때문에, 영국도 여전히 EU와의 거래를 다시 한번 정의하는 작업을 해야 할 것이다.

현재로서는 영국 환경부가 무거래 브렉시트가 발생할 경우 중요하다고 말하는 국경 검사 프로토콜을 영국 내 지역들이 처리할 필요가 있을 것이다. 이 부서에 따르면 육류 등 식품은 시장에 맞추려면 국경검문소를 통과해야 한다.
