[팩트인뉴스= Dongsu Kim] Shares in Asia advanced on Tuesday after a wave of good news surfaced when the United States stocks rebounded overnight and the pound surged as British Prime Minister Theresa May successfully secured buzzer-beater support from the European Union for her Brexit deal ahead of a crucial vote.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose to 0.9 percent in the afternoon sessions. Asian oil stocks also increased as crude prices ensued recovery this week due to comments from Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih, who said it is unlikely to see the end of OPEC-led supply cuts before June, CNBC reported.

The Japanese Nikkei 225 climbed 1.79 percent to end the day at 21,503.69 while the Topix index advanced 1.52 percent to close at 1,605.48.

In China, the Shanghai Composite increased over 1 percent and finished at 3,060.31 while the Shenzhen composite traded up 1.67 percent to end at 1,695.80. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 1.44 percent in the last hours of the trading day.

South Korea's Kospi rose 0.89 percent, closing at 2,157.18, while Australia's ASX 200 dropped to 0.09 percent after earlier gains and closed at 6,174.80.

Elsewhere, the US stocks bounced back due to strong gains in tech after a five-day losing streak on Wall Street. US retail sales for January, which surpassed estimates, also stimulated confidence following weak numbers from data in December. CNBC stated the moves on Monday trading came after major indexes in the US posted their worst weekly performances of the year amid escalating worries of a possible global economic slowdown.

Meanwhile, the pound jumped 0.5 percent to trade at $1.3215 as it takes gains over two days to more than 1.5 percent after the news on the Brexit deal. On Monday, senior minister David Lidington announced that May had secured "legally binding" amendments to her Brexit deal in a bid to win over last-minute support.
